To mark the occasion of this year’s ‘Day of German Unity’ (our National Day) on 3 October, Ambassador Dr Norbert Riedel has initiated a donation campaign.

“The Covid-19 pandemic is a challenge for all of us. While moving our celebration online again due to Covid restrictions may seem like a ‘setback’, I see it as a chance for us to do something good especially after I have learnt in the past months that most of the companies from the community continued to perform well. I would, therefore, like to seize this opportunity and draw your attention to those who are less fortunate in dealing with the economic and social effects of the pandemic here in Singapore.” explains Ambassador Riedel on the rationale behind the campaign.

“I invite everyone in the German-Singaporean Business community to stand united together and by your donation, make this a gesture of renewing our friendship between Germany and Singapore.”

After careful consideration, three local charities have been chosen to partner with the German Embassy in this campaign. Companies who are participating in the donation campaign will be mentioned in our virtual celebrations.
